This is the first time I've tried a coop refresher, and this stuff really works! I sprinkled about half the bag on the floor of my 8x12 coop and it instantly smelled amazing. I could have probably used less, but a week later the coop still smells good. I even made a small sachet with this to keep by my work desk. I had a few crazy chickens that didn't want to lay in any of the nest boxes we provided. They wanted to lay on top of the small intro coop we have in our normal coop for introducing chicks. We used this bag of nesting herbs and in some we used washable nest pads. Finally the crazy ones are using the boxes.

This last hatching I yielded 100% of the eggs that were incubated so I’ve had to resort to unusual brooders. This happens to be an old water trough. It was a lot of work getting it cleaned in a condition. I worried about mites because they were cracks on the bottom in a few places. I noticed them itching more than the normal since summer has been in full swing. But now I’ve been using the nesting box herbs. They are quite content on their little roosts. Not one is scratching or pulling feathers. Until they’re a little bit bigger and they can join the big flock they will be much happier and pest free!
